Why do I have a smile on my face?
Joen Wolfrom | January 17, 2012Greetings Everyone,
Sometimes it’s the little things that excite us and give us a happy smile on our faces. That is the case for me today. I clicked on the JWD homepage this morning and I found a SURPRISE awaiting me—–something I have been wanting for sooooooooooooooooooooo long. (Thanks David & Christina.)
To celebrate my happy-day feeling at JWD, I want to give 5 happy quilters a free pattern. If your’re interested, here’s what you do:
Go to our homepage to see what I am so excited about and why I picked 5 happy quilters rather than 4 or 1 or any other number. Then go to the JWD Comments and tell us what you think of our new feature (please do rave!) ……….and tell us which one of these you would like to have.
Then tell us what has made you really happy this past week—-big or small. The winners will be selected on Friday.
Happy smiles to you!
Joen

I’d love to win the Larisa Key pattern “In a Pickle”!
OMG Joen – WEB SITE LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!
The 5 revolving patterns are ALL so beautiful, I wouldn’t mind having any one of them!!
OK, what made me happy this week? Connecting with other fellow designers!! On the QuiltDesigners Yahoo group someone started a thread about “Like”-ing each others Facebook pages (not personal but business/designer ones) and that resulted in so many designers responding, likeing each other pages, connecting this way too – AWESOME! I discovered some beautiful designs, great designers, some newbies like me…and now we are all connected with this quick and instant form of communication – LOVE IT!!!
Oh, and another one that WILL make me happy tonight – I am starting my new Beginners Quilting class tonight – always a thrill and joy!!
I thought all the patterns were incredible! I was happy today because I was able to sew almost the entire day!
I like Fantasia, of course, because I’m a big fan of your color theory. What made me happy this week?….finding out I will be a grandmother for the first time.
Thank you for all your lessons on color theory.
Congratulations, Jane! Now that should bring the biggest smile ever! You will love being a grandmother…..even when you are asked by a grandchild to make 17 kimonos in one month’s time! Or when watching Lion King, if you want to snuggle with them, so you won’t be scared. Such fun. Plan to have your time evaporate into unbelievable outings right before your eyes.
And, your welcome for the color theory. Writing them keeps me out of mischief. Joen
Jane, that sounds like pure luxury. I can see why you’re still smiling.
Marija,
Thanks. I am so glad you like it. Your designers’ group sounds great. Have a great time with your new quilters. Keep smiling!
Hi Hannele,
Larisa’s In a Pickle is my favorite of her quilts. It is so beautiful. I hope you are having a beautiful winter day in Finland. I’m wondering if all kinds of people are sliding down the opera house roof in Helsinki. It looks like it would be lots of fun to do. Joen
I think it is the rotating banner of patterns that has been added. I was mesmorized watching them. I too am especially drawn to In a Pickle – maybe because that is the way my life feels right now. Some soothing sewing would fix that right up I believe. Thanks for the fun chances!
The slide show of the quilts is a great feature. I love the nine patch by Mickey – it is just so fun it made me laugh. Watching the poor shivery birds at the suet feeders I put out for them this week made me really happy but it made my cat even happier to watch them fly to and fro. Mary Ann
Hi Mary Ann,
I love Mickey’s Nine-patchers too. It definitely makes me smile every time I look at it. I can visualize both you and your cat smiling while looking out the window at the birds—-both for different reasons. And, the birds are really smiling, as they are getting food without fear of a smiling cat! Happy winter! Joen
